Spotting
Also known as: staging, pre-positioning
Spotting is positioning a vehicle at or near a pickup location ahead of the scheduled time, so the chauffeur is in place before the passenger is ready.
Standard practice for airport arrivals and executive pickups, where the expectation is that the vehicle waits rather than the passenger. Spotting time is deadhead and is one reason garage-to-garage billing exists.
