TCP Number
Also known as: TCP permit, charter party permit
A TCP number is the permit identifier issued to a Transportation Charter Party carrier, authorising a company to provide prearranged passenger transportation for compensation.
TCP is California terminology, administered by the CPUC, but equivalent permit classes exist in other states and countries under different names. Operators generally must display the permit number on marketing materials and vehicles.
