Gratuity
Also known as: auto-gratuity, service charge
Gratuity is the chauffeur's tip, which in chauffeured transportation is frequently added automatically to the fare as a fixed percentage rather than left to the passenger's discretion.
Automatic gratuity is common on contracted and corporate work so that chauffeur compensation is predictable. Whether it is disclosed clearly at booking is a recurring source of customer complaints across the industry.
